The Pantry component of Fish With A Story is a well-stocked selection of hand-made, traditional coastal pantry products crafted by women fishers in coastal communities using recipes handed down through generations of fisherfolk.
Pantry recognises these women as leaders, providers and business women nurturing traditional, nature-based food systems. We work with these women groups to build sustainable businesses that open new livelihood opportunities and reflect their proud coastal cultural heritage.
Each Pantry product, centred on the basket of marine resources available in the local ecosystem, is accompanied by a social and ecological Story carefully curated by the women fishers. This Story provides buyers with insight into the local, multigenerational knowledge that goes into the production of these products.
